This project was incredibly fun!
As a child, I loved flipping through our Art Encyclopedia at home—yes, we had books back then! While many artists caught my attention, Leonardo Da Vinci’s work always stood out. His anatomical studies, inventions, and masterpieces were a constant source of fascination. So, when Grande Experiences approached me to create a sequence imagining Da Vinci’s work as a theatre set designer, I was thrilled.
The result is "Impressario", a sequence that’s part of an immersive experience at The Lume in Melbourne, Australia. If this show ever tours your city, I highly recommend seeing it in person—it's an unforgettable journey into Da Vinci’s world!
The main sequence was paired with extra animations for a behind-the-scenes look at the stage action. I designed a machine inspired by Da Vinci’s work, with cogs and pulleys to simulate the stage effects. To show the human effort behind it all, we added illustrations of men pulling ropes, reflecting how it would have worked in Leonardo's time.
I hope this has caught your interest! Here's a glimpse into the exhibition itself. Don't miss it if you have the chance!
Behind The Curtain
Step into the wings and see how the magic happens!
It all starts with storyboards — my script. Then, I built an animatic, a rough run-through before the final show. But here's the real plot twist: that animatic is the blueprint for the 54,645 files needed to bring this animation to life. Yes, you read that right!
From there, it’s a whirlwind of concepting, asset building, and prepping the stage for everything to move. Check out the images below to get a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes hustle!

🎭 Enjoy the show 🎭
